An ongoing interview series highlighting the wisdom, warmth, and joy from oldest and dearest loved ones, new friendships, and women I admire from near and far.
Through her writing, curating, and creating, Rachel always has an air of thoughtfulness and intentionality. Read about her morning routine, favorite piece of advice, and the ER pieces she reaches for on repeat.
How do you approach getting dressed?
With intentionality. It’s easy to get swept up in the trend cycle, but I’ve really refined my sensibility over the years. I’d say my current wardrobe is comfortable and classic—with a little twist.
What is the first thing you do when you wake up in the morning? I greet my darling Lionhead rabbit, Pepper!
If you could pass down one “heirloom,” which would it be? One of the many beautiful paintings by my talented grandmother, Sharon Schwartzmann.
“The world is full of yes.” Wise words from my father.
What’s one small thing that brings you joy lately? Reading and writing, always. Lately, the way the early summer sun fills our bedroom each morning.
What ER pieces are you wearing?
Emma blends comfort and style so seamlessly. I’ve been wearing the Cape Seam Pant in Herringbone Denim and Cedar Swing Jacket in Salt Denim on repeat. I also really love the Patti Pant as an accent piece paired with a tee and trench coat.
What is the last thing you do before going to bed at night?
Read in bed—and think about (writing) my next book!
