THE WOMEN WHO: Clara Infante

Clara is a multi-disciplinary creative whose content never fails to provide a refreshing view point. An inspiring mother and maker, her love of slow-makers and detail is something we will always have in common.

What is the first thing you do when you wake up in the morning?

I open my curtains and windows and let fresh air into my room, rain or shine!

What's one small thing that brings you joy lately?

Watching my little kids grow into big kids. Spitting out my coffee in the morning when they say something hilarious, their sense of humor is just so good.

If you could tell your 10 year-old self something, what would it be?

I'd love to tell her to keep dreaming, because she manifested so much of what I'm getting to enjoy in our life now.

What piece of advice do you come back to often?

Do what you want because nobody cares what you're doing, everyone is busy thinking about their own stuff. So whatever it is you've been too afraid to try for fear that someone will judge you...go do it.

If you could pass down one "heirloom", which would it be?

I don't have any daughters so unfortunately it wouldn't be any of my beautiful clothes. If it had to be anything, I would say my film camera.

How do you approach getting dressed?

With joy! For so many years, getting dressed was such a burden... I didn't know any brands outside your local mall fast fashion labels. Getting dressed was a reminder that I would never be a "stylish girl." Eventually I let go of the idea that I needed to have my finger on the pulse of brands to know and started to look for silhouettes I was seeing online. It became so much more joyful and creative to get dressed in the morning knowing I had a handful of pieces in my closet that made me feel good!

What ER pieces are you wearing?

I had to get the Hollis shirts in two colors because how could I not! The pilgrim collar is too good, I also just love the way the shirt bells around my pants, it's a great fit.

I decided to go white denim because summer is around the corner and I'll be able to wear it with everything. The picnic pant is such a great staple to have in your wardrobe, I love that it fits loosely around my hips... it reminds me of a pair of pants I used to wear when I was a kid! And the Pina dress is so beautiful, it has a bit of a skater dress fit to it which is so flattering and the pointelle fabric is perfect for the warmer months ahead.

What is the last thing you do before going to bed at night?

I tidy my room so I wake up to a clean space, it's super important for my brain to start each day with a clean slate.
